Professor Michael P. Snyder, Academician of American Academy of Arts and Sciences, visited Intelligent Medicine Institute of Fudan University for in-depth exchanges
At the invitation of Intelligent Medicine Institute of Fudan University, Professor Michael P. Snyder, Chairman of the Department of Genetics of Stanford University and academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, visited Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University on March 14. On the same day, he first visited the Fenglin campus and the public technical service platform of Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. With the accompaniment and explanation of relevant staff, he learned about the various scientific research instruments and equipment currently available in Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. Professor Michael P. Snyder highly appreciated our achievements and service system in the fields of biomedical information, data platform, advantageous disease and health research.
Subsequently, Professor Michael P. Snyder gave us a wonderful academic forum entitled "Disrupting healthcare using deep data and remote monitoring" in Fenglin Campus. The forum, co-sponsored by the Graduate School of Shanghai Medical College and the Intelligent Medicine Institute of Fudan University, attracted more than 150 teachers, students and related scholars to listen. In the interactive session, teachers and students all raised their hands to speak. His wonderful speech not only inspired the audience deeply, but also broadened everyone's academic horizon and stimulated the enthusiasm of teachers and students for academic research. At the end of the lecture, Professor Liu Lei, on behalf of the Intelligent Medicine Institute of Fudan University, presented Professor Michael P. Snyder with a beautiful customized souvenir of the school name to express his gratitude for his arrival.
In the afternoon, Professor Michael P. Snyder visited the Intelligent Medicine Institute and the research platforms of Human Phenoomics Institute of Fudan University respectively and had a discussion and exchange. At the symposium, participants and Professor Michael P. Snyder had a warm and in-depth academic exchange on cutting-edge issues in the academic field and shared their insights and experiences.
On the morning of March 17, Professor Jin Li, President of Fudan University, warmly received Professor Michael P. Snyder and conducted in-depth exchanges in related research fields, with a view to promoting the strong alliance between the two universities in the research fields of genetics and genomics and so on.
