Professor Ignacio Olmeda from the University of Alcalá in Spain gave an academic lecturefor Intelligent Medical Institute of Fudan University(IMI).
In the afternoon of April 12, 2023, professor Ignacio Olmeda was invited to Intelligent Medical Institute of Fudan University(IMI) to make a lecture which was entitled as “AI in Medicine—an EUs Perspective”. This report was hosted by the executive vice president of IMI professor Lei Liu.
Professor Ignacio Olmeda elaborated the history and the development of AI, ChatGPT and Cloud Computing. Besides, he also introduced the related development of AI in healthcare in detail, which included excepted advantages and multiple applications of AI. He compared the trend of AI in China and Europe and also expressed his opinion on the possible risk and opportunity during the rapid expansion of AI. Professor Ignacio Olmeda made an specific and interesting lecture, from which we can see that his research thought is rigorous and clear. Finally, during the question-and-answer session, he answered students’ questions patiently and explored more details about their doubts and also held heated discussions with them.
Students who took part in this report think they gain a great deal of useful knowledge which can help them a lot at present stage, and get a full and clear understanding of intelligent medicine.
